[Internship Publicis] -- Day One
Kick off.
The internship program at Publicis officially begins.
Arriving at the office 15 minutes before the official meeting time, i was greeted by at least 10 university students looking youngsters at the foot of the office building. Then, i told myself... Please let not these people be part of the internship as well. If not, the whole system would be over packed.
Over packed the program sure is. With interns from Culture University flooding the 18 men strong internship entourage. Some were ready-made teams who were already dressed in white collared uniform and a pool ball name tag on each and every of their chests. We were split into 2 teams of 9 each. Ours consisted of the 3 of us from NCCU, and another 6 interns from Team Baroque, Culture U. It was an odd combination, with the 6 of them each familiar with their own positions in the team, and none of them paid too much attention to the 3 of us. Anyhow, we were given 2 tasks to complete within this 1 month.
Garnier and HeySong. Our 2 clients for this term. One consists of only a fieldstudy of the bodycare youth segment, the other includes a more hands on program.
The day officially ended when the Account Executives for both clients finished their brief on the tasks that are set before us. But much discussion is required for our team to sort out some basic administrations. Egghead (as he calls himself) volunteered for the HeySong case, while i'm supposed to take up the AE position for the Garnier case. This sucks a little, but, i should do fine.
Affter a couple of hours of negotiation with my team mates. (Yes, the meeting was more of a negotiation/debate than a meeting) we're set for a pitching next monday. We'll see how things go then.
